SANTA will be appearing nightly from 6:30-8:30 at Dough Boy’s California Pizza 33rd Street and Atlantic Avenue through Christmas Eve, and every night he will give FREE candy canes and hot chocolate to the kids.

So, after you’ve viewed the Holiday Lights on the boardwalk, stop by Dough Boy’s, located on the corner of 33rd Street as you exit the show. You won’t miss Santa. He’ll be the fat guy in the red suit waving to you as you drive by!

Bill Averett from Roanoke Valley Wine Company will be pouring several outstanding wines – listed below – at Dough Boy’s 33rd St on Saturday, December 8 from 2-4PM. Also, enjoy a variety of hand-made California Pizzas, featuring a 5 cheese mushroom and truffle pizza that is not – and never will be – on our regular menu. If so, it would cost $50!

Virginia Beach pizza chain Dough Boy’s gains off-premise wine and beer license

Virginia Beach Pizza chain, Dough Boy’s California Pizza, announces a new service for its customers. They can take home beer and wine purchased from in-store wine and beer buyer, George Kotarides. Since launching the new enterprise earlier this summer, cases of wine are moving out the door. There’s very little overhead, as Kotarides doesn’t inventory the wines. Just tell him what you want, and chances are he’ll have it for you in a few days.

Local wine representative, Anne Craddock with Z Wine Guy, will be pouring a variety of California wines, including wines by Trespass’ Kirk Venge, Mellowood’s Linda Neal, and a tasty Sauvignon Blanc by winemaker David Desante of Tierra Roja. I have tasted all of these and they are both unique and excellent. Dough Boy’s pizza chefs will be serving up a variety of California-style pizzas and more.

2010 DeSante – Sauvignon Blanc
Napa Valley, CA
Winemaker for Tierra Roja and Mellowood, David DeSante, does not disapoint with his white wines. This Old Vine Sauvignon Blanc has aromas of white peach, dried rose petal and pebbly minerality with key lime, fresh pear and jasmine tea on the palate.

2009 Maldonado Parr Vineyard – Chardonnay
Napa Valley, CA
A big, rich and unctuous chardonnay with brilliant aromas of caramel, brown butter, quince, pear, grilled fig, vanilla and subtle hints of almond. There is a persistent finish ending with a touch of vanilla and expansive minerality.

2008 Mueller – Pinot Noir
Russian River Valley, CA
This well-balanced RRV Pinot Noir displays aromas of sweet Ranier cherries, raspberry and toasted oak while the flavor adds great balance of spice and cherry with a lingering finish.

2007 Abiouness – Sangiovese
Mendocino, CA
Norfolk native and winemaker, Nicole Abiouness, has made a gorgeous new world Sangiovese. This great food wine has hints of dried violets, chocolate covered cherries and black licorice on the nose that carry through to the palate in addition to ripe stone fruits, black tea and big soft tannins.

2008 Mellowood – Zinfandel
Sierra Foothills, CA
Grape grower, Linda Neal and wine maker, David DeSante collaborate to produce this zinfandel with a juicy nose and well balanced palate. Candied strawberry, raspberry syrup, cola and a hint of violet on the nose lead into a toasty vanilla ribbon surrounded by black cherry on the palate. There is a nice acidity throughout and the wine ends with toasty, vanilla cherry syrup.

2008 Trespass – Cabernet Franc
St. Helena, CA
Winemaker, Kirk Venge, created this gorgeous Cab Franc. It has layers of ripe red berry, fresh black cherry, warm oak, vanilla and loads of finesse. The palate is lifted and delicate with bright acidity and smooth tannin follow through.

2008 Hunnicutt – Caberent Sauvignon
Napa Valley, CA
Another gorgeous wine from Kirk Venge. The nose exhibits a wide array of black cherry, cinnamon, clove, brown sugar and barrel vanillin. Rich, focused flavors of black fruit lead the complex, heady mixture of tannin, terroir and texture.

“I wanted to take a minute to thank you and your entire staff for a wonderful eating adventure. All of our students loved the food and my administrative staff loved the catered food. I couldn’t have asked for a better response to our needs. I want to say personally, that you are the best at what you do. I look forward to contacting you again on our next trip down. Additionally, one of the best parts to this was seeing your restaurant completely full while other restaurants on Atlantic were empty. I even heard one family walking down Atlantic say “that place is crowded, it must be real good lets go in there,” and sure enough they walked in and sat down.

Santa Claus will visit Virginia Beach nightly during the McDonald’s Holiday Lights show from 6:30-8:30 at Dough Boy’s 33rd Street w/ free candy canes and hot chocolate for all Santa’s kids!

Big news! The McDonald’s Holiday Lights Show at the Virginia Beach resort just got a lot more fun. The most special guest of all will be greeting kids after the show, Santa Claus! That’s right. Saint Nick himself will be granting kids’ Christmas wishes and giving away free hot chocolate and candy canes! The fun starts at Dough Boy’s California Pizza located at 33rd Street and Atlantic Avenue, where Santa will appear nightly, November 18th – December 24th from 6:30-8:30. Dough Boy’s will also offer great deals for everyone after the show. So, bring the whole family, stop in, and warm up!

Upon entry to the McDonald’s Holiday Lights, every family will also receive bargain coupons good only at Dough Boy’s. In addition to free hot chocolate and free candy canes for Santa’s kids, families can redeem these coupons for Family Meal Deal and Buy-One-Get-One-Free bargains.

There will also be a chance to give back to the community. Just bring along an unused toy or gift for a child, and Dough Boy’s will make sure it gets to a needy child before Christmas.
