Eat, Drink & Be Merry

If you’re like most folks this time of year, you’re running around like mad shopping, decorating, and visiting with loved ones. Hopefully, you can fit just one more thing into your busy holiday schedule.

Bill Averett from Roanoke Valley Wine Company will be pouring several outstanding wines – listed below – at Dough Boy’s 33rd St on Saturday, December 8 from 2-4PM. Also, enjoy a variety of hand-made California Pizzas, featuring a 5 cheese mushroom and truffle pizza that is not – and never will be – on our regular menu. If so, it would cost $50!

You don’t want to miss this chance to party around the holidays with friends, sample some unusual pizzas, and quaff some very good wine.

2002 Andre Clouet Brut Champagne, Grand Cru Bouzy, FR (Yes, this is a 10 year old Champagne.)

Coutier Brut Grand Cru NV Champagne , Ambonnay, FR (Proof that Champagne doesn’t have to be expensive to taste great.)

2008 Trump (formerly Kluge) Blanc de Blanc Sparkling Wine, Albemarle, VA (GOLD MEDAL winner at 2012 Governor’s Cup. I know. I know. If it’s from Virginia, it can’t be that good. Well, it is that good. If you didn’t know better, you’d swear it was excellent Champagne.)

2011 Evesham Wood Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, OR (Tasty Oregon pinot at a low price.)

2010 St Innocent Pinot Noir Freedom Hill, Willamette Valley, OR (We absolutely love this producer. Single vineyard.)

2010 Owen Syrah Ex Umbris, Columbia Valley, WA (Single vineyard for not much $.)

2007 Worthy Cabernet Sauvignon Sophia’s Cuvee, Napa, CA (A big cab for under $25 – made by the producer of cult cab, Axios.)

2009 Tour Bayard, Bordeaux, St Emilion, FR (Delicious, balanced wine for under $25 from a top Bordeaux vintage.)Wine and pizza tasting is $15/person.
